She was valedictorian of her high school class at Jeannette and had a full scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh to study English. She chose to enter the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing and graduated to follow a career path to which was devoted.
Laura married Kenneth Reese Waugh, son of James Henry Waugh and Henrietta Hagmaier, on 12 Jun 1937. (Kenneth Reese Waugh was born on 20 Jan 1909, died on 12 Nov 1973 and was buried in William Penn Memorial Cemetery, Borough Of Churchill, Pennsylvania.) |
