Aaron Coulter was a farmer and horse breeder and he loved his horses. His best-blooded draft horses were two big Belgians and a huge Percheron named Cher Ami. Before his marriage, Aaron worked in the stone quarry at Conrad, Iowa. Aaron was married at the farm home of his bride's father, George Crecelius, just west of Conrad. At the end of a good life, Aaron died in his sleep at his home at 4 East Webster St. in Marshalltown.
Aaron married Eliza (Etta) Crecelius, daughter of George Crecelius and Elizabeth Keller, on 29 Jun 1881 in Conrad, Iowa. (Eliza (Etta) Crecelius was born on 7 Apr 1862 in Taylor Township, Marshall County, Iowa, died on 7 May 1946 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa and was buried in Conrad Cemetery, Conrad, Grundy County, Iowa.)
