Aaron Coulter was a farmer and horse breeder and he loved his horses. His best-blooded draft horses were two big Belgians and a huge Percheron named Cher Ami. Before his marriage, Aaron worked in the stone quarry at Conrad, Iowa. Aaron was married at the farm home of his bride's father, George Crecelius, just west of Conrad. At the end of a good life, Aaron died in his sleep at his home at 4 East Webster St. in Marshalltown.
