John Kaiser

  General Notes:

- John and Louesa Heasting Kiser came to what is now Warren Twp. in 1841. In 1841 Warren Twp. was a part of Clear Creek. They came from Elmstein, Bavaria with the Joseph Nuck family. Margaret Nuck was John Kiser's sister. Their brother, Sabastian Kaiser,came to America in 1833.
John and Louesa Kiser bought an 80 acre farm from the Wabash and Erie Canal Company. They had to clear the land, it was swamp and wooded area. They built a two story log cabin which stood until the late 1950s. The location is just east of Bippus.
Two of their children were born in the old country. Their son, David, was one of the first immigrant children to be born in Warren Twp. They had nine children in all. One of their daughters named Matilda died at age nine (on down the line they named another daughter Matilda).
Another oddity in names was that brothers, John and Sabastian, each named one of their sons Sabastian. Also, the Kisers spell their names Kiser, Keiser, and Kaiser.
John Kiser's farm was passed down through the generations. Now, with the exception of the house, the farm is still owned by two of his Great- grandchildren.
John Kiser was born in 1812 and died in 1892. His wife, Louesa, was born in 1814 and died in 1890. They are buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington Co. In.

John married Louesa Heusting. (Louesa Heusting was born on 22 Feb 1814 in Rhine Bavaria, Germany, died on 6 Feb 1890 in Huntington Co. In. and was buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington Co. In..)
