Regis A. Kelly, 86, of Penn Township, died Friday, April 29, 2005, in his home. He was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Jeannette, a son of the late Patrick J. and Agnes (Dixon) Kelly. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Harrison City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was awarded the Bronze Star. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a teacher in the Penn-Trafford School District. He was the former athletic director, a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association, a former baseball coach for 17 years, former football coach for 13 years, a member of the Westmoreland County Coaches Association, the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association, the American Legion Post 472 in Manor, the Penn Township Senior Citizens, the Young At Heart of St. Barbara Church in Harrison City, and the AARP. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Daniel, Joseph and James Leo Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, A. Louise (Berlin) Kelly; two sons, Patrick J. Kelly and wife, Sandra, of Irwin, and Daniel R. Kelly and wife, Michele, of Penn Township; five grandchildren, Joani Terek, Patty Jo Goode, Stephen Kelly, Kayla Kelly and Kyle Kelly; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Benjamin Goode, Brandon Terek and Noah Kelly; and a sister, Mary E. Kelly, of Penn. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Penn Township. The Young At Heart will hold services at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, the Manor American Legion will hold services at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the Grandview VFD will hold services at 8 p.m. Sunday, all in the funeral home.
