Henry was born on a farm near South Bend. When the Vandergrift Mill was erected, they moved to Vandergrift (1896), they were the 8th family in town, and they operated a boarding house. They had a house built on 18th Street.
Henry married Priscilla Fink on 10 Sep 1878 in South Bend, PA. (Priscilla Fink was born on 9 Apr 1856, died on 29 Mar 1930 in West Penn Hosp. Pittsburgh and was buried in Vandergrift Cemetery.)
