Robert D.'Sam' Neidlinger died from a heart attack.
He graduated from Culver High School in 1960 and earned an accounting degree from the South Bend College of Commerce. He was an electrician and plumber and operated Sam's Electric and Neidlinger's Well Drilling for 29 years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 166, Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Plymouth Moose, Culver Eagles, Rochester Elks and the National Pine Association.

Robert married Living Wilhelm, daughter of Ermel Dean Wilhelm and Bertha P. Flagg.
