Thomas J. Fear

  General Notes:

Fullton county's first double fatality accident in 16 months took the lives of a South Bend man and his wife and injured an Akron man critically at 2:45 p.m. Sunday on Ind. 14 three-fourths of a mile west of Akron. The fatalities were the fifth and sixth this year on Fulton county roads. Killed were Charles H. McCrackin, 69, South Bend, and Mrs. Martha J. McCrackin, 71. The accident occurred as McCrackin was driving a 1961 Studebaker west on Ind. 14, and Thomas Fear was going East in a 1955 Buick. State police said Fear had just crossed the Erie Lackawanna tracks and was rounding a curve to his right when his car crossed the center line. The vehicles collided head-on in the middle of McCrackin's lane. Fear had moderate injuries.
ROCHESTER SENTINEL-Wednesday, May 18, 1977:
"Thomas Fear, 47, RR 1, Silver Lake, was found burned to death this morning following a fire at his mobile home. He had been employed as a well driller and was a member of the Warsaw American Legion, the North Manchester Moose lodge and the Rochester VFW. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Germany."

Thomas married Barbara L. Mayall on 27 Dec 1968 in Fulton County, IN. (Barbara L. Mayall was born on 17 Aug 1927 in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio, died on 27 Apr 1977 in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, IN and was buried on 29 Apr 1977 in Akron Cemetery, Fulton County, IN.)
