bullet  General Notes:

He was a householder in Cambridge , Massachusetts in 1635. He was admitted as freeman in Watertown in 1636, and in 1642 he was a proprietor of a homestall and 14 other lots of land there. He was listed as an early settler and grantee of Sudbury Plantation about 1638 or 1639. In the formation of Sudbury all of the men were ranked in an "economic hierarchy that was fixed and final". John Knight was listed as seventh and was considered as a wealthy Watertown man. In 1640, there was a second granting of land in Sudbury, but he was given no land at this time as he had been labelled as a land speculator. John moved to Woburn and owned land there. He moved to Charlestown and purchased land there. He lived in Charlestown until his death.
