ORDER BOOK 1755/56, p. 35; also p. 36 for wife Elizabeth (or Saran) Vaughan. Order Book 1746-54, part 1, p. 69: He produced a certificate from George Hoomes Gent. for taking up a runaway Negro belonging to Henry Willis Gent. of Spotsylvania county. Order Book 1755/6, p. 35. 8/14/1755 his will was presented by Eliza. Leavel exec. and Thomas Berry and Cornelius Vaughn execs. Proved by David Snodgrass, Richard Broadus and Bridgett Broaddus, witnesses.
