JAMES STAGGS. bom 9 October 1774, married Sarah BEARD in Mason Co. Kentucky on 20 September 1797. They appear in the 1850 census for Fleming Co. KY district 1, #1062, Poplar Plains area. She is 72, bom PA; he a farmer, 76, bom MD, with $100 real estate value. Living with them are Rebecca, female, bom ca. 1812-1819; Ann E., 13; Joseph A., 17. According to cemetery records, James died 29 June 1850 Fleming Co. KY. His will was written 11 September 1848, recorded 28 October 1850 in Fleming Co. Court, Circuit Ct. Records, #12864, filed September 1858. Sarah died 5 May 1855 Fleming Co. Her tombstone says she was bom 27 February 1779.

James married Sarah Beard on 29 Sep 1797 in Mason Co. KY. (Sarah Beard was born on 27 Feb 1779 in Lampeter Twp. Lancaster Co. PA, died on 5 May 1855 in Fleming Co. KY. and was buried in Staggs Cemetery, Fleming Co. KY..)
