Charles E. Wigle, 87, of Level Green, a son of the late John C. and Mary Hild Wigle, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2003. He was born May 2, 1915, in Penn Township, and was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army, 509th Engineers Battalion. He was a life member of VFW Post 781, Irwin. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Larimer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and William Wigle; and two sisters, Mary Jane Glass and Ruth Wigle. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Catherine Fellers Derreck Wigle; a son, Charles C. Wigle and his wife, Jean, of Irwin; three loving grandchildren, Charles, Adam and Jennie Wigle; a sister, Rena Yocum and her husband, Charles, of Marion, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wigle of Murrysville; a loving aunt, Ethel Hild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Claudia B. Papenmeier officiating (those attending please meet at the church). Entombment with military honors will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon
